1673Many decades after the first glassmaker was forcibly confined to the island, the glassmakers of ADELMA come to the decision to close the island, with the guild masters seizing the arsenal in the city and pulling down the flag of La Serenissima.
1674REDACTED is born in ADELMA within the first few months of its closure, the first (and, as time will prove, only) son of his parents' union. All is well.
1675Talks break down between La Serenissima and its subject-city ADELMA. The State refuses to grant the guilds privileges and threaten war should the city continue in its obstinacy. ADELMA calls her bluff, and a siege sets in.
1680A plague decimates the forces of REDACTED. Many die, and the city opens its gates in surrender. Rather than accept the defeat, however, La Serenissima opts for nothing less than complete and total annihilation — covering up their crime with the excuse of having to wipe out sickness and death.
1681Archē drifts — in the void of the sea, and in the void of life.
1687REDACTED meets THE DOCTOR and is baptised with a new name and a new purpose in life, learning the tools of the trade that his saviour practises.
1691Miraculously, Archē is healed of his illness.
1693Archē sets up an independent practice and peddles his expertise to most anyone who would work with him, though his reputation has been bolstered by his education under THE DOCTOR.
1696His notoriety spreads as he takes on various odd jobs here and there for a variety of clientele, most of whom procure his services for the deliverance of death: unexpected, undetectable, untraceable. Although this is his main source of income — and makes him a very, very rich man — his interests run far more towards the esoteric and experimental.
1702Archē gets arrested for graverobbing in a nothingtown in the country of LOTHARINGIA, very near the borders of La Serenissima. Within a couple of months after this incident, a plague spreads through the town and decimates the population. Alarmed, LOTHARINGIA calls in the marines — who have already been tailing Archē for several months due to a prior, unrelated(?) offence.
1703After a lengthy trial, Archē is imprisoned in Os Ferventis for crimes against God, nature, and the moral order.
